CO2 Managers for the Industry in the People”s Republic of China (2005 - 2007)

The capacity building project is implemented by CENTRIC AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL. Partners are the Clean Technology Center Cork, Ireland (CTC) and the China Energy Research Society, China (CERS). The project receives cofinancing from the European Union, the Austrian Development Programme and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology.

Along the line from understanding to implementation a number of logically combined training & seminar activities introduces
-- first, the importance, the scientific and political background and mayor fields of CO2 management,
-- second, basic tools for data inventory in form of energy audits,
-- third, methods of CO2 assessment and strategy development on company level
-- fourth, implementation of mitigation measures, in conventional approaches and in the framework of emission trading, if appropriate.
The classroom activities will be completed with practical exercises and seminar work papers supervised by EU experts. To further illustrate the theoretical input a mission to Europe is planned to meet key players from industry and institutions interested in cooperation with China. To sustain the operation a guideline for CO2 management in China will be edited in printing and in the internet and presented with other outcomes at a final conference.
