Dezember 2003 : CENTRIC AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL applied successfully for a new ASIA-INVEST project with China

CLEANER PRODUCTION IN THE FOUNDRY INDUSTRY OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

The project aims at:

• Improve environmental and economical performance of Chinese industry based on EU best practice and technologies
• Pilot implementation of Cleaner Production in representative Chinese industries
• Increase Chinese capacity on consultancy level and provide a guideline for replication in the larger scale

From understanding to implementation the project provides a number of 12 logically combined training, consulting and assessment activities: Instruction training for Chinese consultants; nine workshops followed by company visits to implement the first time Cleaner Production in 15 selected foundries; home based technology assessment followed by a business match making mission to EU; evaluation and audit of achieved results honoured by a final award event in China; saving project experiences in a handbook owned by the Chinese partner to ease replication.

Local partner of CENTRIC AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL is the TIANJIN FOUNDRY AND FORGING INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION, who will be suppoerted by our Chinese member  INTERTECH Corporation.

Beside the co-financing by the European Commission the project will get support by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology.
