February 2005 : International experts under leadership of CENTRIC AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL visited Vietnam, Laos and the Philippines
Since the start of the project Feasibility study for the implementation of energy integrated urban planning (EIUP) in ASEAN cities and of applicability of European approaches within the EC-ASEAN Energy Facility Programme the partnership was completed with the ASEAN cities.
To support the host cities the international expert team made a first mission between February 13 – 26, 2005, visiting Can Tho (Vietnam), Luang Prabang (Lao PDR), and Naga City (Philippines) in that order to present the project to the local EIUP team as well as the key top policy makers in the host cities to gather local political support for the project; introduce the international to the local EIUP team; introduce the local EIUP team to the international project team, including their current roles and responsibility in the city; and to present the EIUP Working Report & Guideline, which served as the main tool for implementing the activities in the host cities as mentioned above.
Members of the expert team conducting the first mission to the host cities were: Mr. Gerhard Weihs and Mr. Miroslav Maly (CAI), Mr. Jessie Todoc (CEERD), Mr. Ole Herold (GCD, visiting only Can Tho).
During their visits the international team introduced the project objectives and arrangements and briefly also all host cities.
