February 2007 : CAI managing director presents EIUP results in Brussels
The Final European Dissemination Conference for the EC-ASEAN Energy Facility (EAEF) took place on 2 February at Hotel Métropole in Brussels. A second conference took place some weeks later in Jakarta, Indonesia. The EC-ASEAN Conferences & Meeting forms part of the EC-ASEAN Energy Facility (EAEF). With these conferences the EAEF aims at the dissemination of the 5-year long programme results and experiences to the participants and stakeholders, and to network and share knowledge during the conference.
The EC-ASEAN Energy Facility is a programme of co-operation between the European Commission (EC) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), to facilitate partnerships between ASEAN and European organisations in developing specific joint regional projects in the energy sector.
The EAEF focuses on Electricity, Natural gas, Clean coal technology, Energy efficiency and Renewable energy. EAEF inventory includes 67 projects under four facilities and 10 projects for Institutional Strengthening. All projects ended 12 December 2006. EC contribution value was endorsed at EUR 16.5 million for facilities and EUR 2 million for institutional strengthening. The total number of received project proposals amount to 180. The total number of organisations involved in EU and ASEAN is more than 500.
CENTRIC AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL was involved in three of these projects. In two cases in the Philippines as partner of international consortia dealing with the development of renewable energies; in one case as leader of an international consortia dealing with Energy Integrated Urban Planning (EIUP). CAI managing director Gerhard Weihs was invited to Brussels to present the later project.
