Mandate/Mission Statement
The Berlin Energy Agency was founded in 1992 as a private limited company on the initiative of the Berlin Senate with the aim to identify energy saving potentials and to facilitate the implementation of renewable energy sources. Equal partners of the Berlin Energy Agency are Deutsche Ausgleichsbank (public law corporation), Bewag plc. (utility) and the State of Berlin. Our experiences as an operator of small-scale CHP and solar plants secure the know-how needed for the concept development in our consulting division. We develop and implement innovative projects including Third Party Financing models that guarantee the reduction of energy costs on the one hand and reduction of CO2 emissions on the other hand.

Main areas of expertise
Consulting (Status: Consultant) in the field of the development and implementation of intelligent energy management, special expertise in performance contracting projects. Scope of Services: Analysis and conception, project development and tender management, assistance during the implementation, controlling, training and qualification. Contracting (Status: Energy Service Company – ESCO) in the field of Small-scale CHP and solar energy, currently 15 installations owned and operated by the Berlin Energy Agency. Scope of services: Financing and planning, construction and operation, controlling and accounting.

Our clients are public authorities and non-commercial institutions, hospitals, housing companies, industrial plants as well as small and medium-sized companies.
