Our mission
Since its inception in 1992, CTC has become nationally and internationally regarded as a major centre of excellence in the area of proactive and innovative environmental improvement across a range of industrial sectors. The Clean Technology Centre (CTC), is a not for profit organisation, based in the Cork Institute of Technology. The goal of the organisation is to continually strive for environmental improvement in all its activities, products and services. This means, CTC will always seek to persuade the clients to adopt preventive strategies and philosophical changes, rather than end-of-pipe solutions. The Clean Technology Centre subscribes fully to the principle of sustainable development, including supply side and demand side issues. As such CTC seeks to encourage sustainable production and sustainable consumption. Therefore, CTC seeks to advise client companies on proactive management techniques and technologies, and will continually work towards the adoption of new standards by all societal actors. This policy provides the framework for setting environmental objectives and targets to which the necessary resources shall be committed.

Our services
CTC has provided training, awareness raising and environmental consultancy to various industries and service sectors. It has a wide experience in waste minimisation, process engineering, energy efficiency, cost reduction, IPC licensing, environmental management systems, identification of alternative technologies, and product and process Life-Cycle Assessment. CTC has built up many valuable resources for its clients, partners and sponsor companies. From the beginning, CTC has been especially aware of the importance of information as a crucial resource to the centre. Therefore, since its inception, the CTC has been proactive both in terms of new information acquisition and useful information dissemination. The CTC's information office contains almost 4,000 publications on a wide range of environmental issues. These include textbooks, handbooks, case studies, monographs, yearbooks, reports, conference proceedings, manuals, directories, acts, catalogues, statutory instruments, directives and other legal texts, etc.
