Building a bridge for the environment
The International Environmental Transfer Center ITUT was created in Leipzig as a joint initiative of the Federal government, the German economy and the Saxonian state legislature.
The Republic of Germany holds a special responsibility for Environmental Technology: experience from the redevelopment and restructuring of former German Democratic Republic, the existing know-how in engineering and planning offer numerous foundations to solve similar problems in other regions of the world.
ITUT has partner countries in Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America as well as in South Africa.
Goals and Services of ITUT Association
Nowadays innovative services are necessary in the field of environmental technology transfer in order to outlast the competition:
- to promote the transfer of knowledge and the exchange of experience in the field of environmental conservation as a contribution for solving regional and global environmental and developmental problems of partner countries
- to strengthen environmental awareness
- to adjust legislatures and environmental standards worldwide
- to function as an information and communication center for environmental conservation know-how
- Further education and practical training in German companies and institutions for interested individuals from our partner countries.
- Pilot projects and their implementation within the scope of environmental conservation technology transfer in our partner countries - especially in Russia and the CIS-states.
Services
ITUT Association leans on experienced partners from industry and science in the implementation of its projects. The following services are offered with the privilege of political support:
- Information on partner countries, analyses and evaluations of the condition and problems of environmental politics as well as the demand for environmental technology and engineering in our partner countries
- Information service on environmental law and its enforcement in Germany and the European Union
- Mediation of research contacts as a first step to develop adjusted solutions for specific problems in our partner countries
- Transfer of knowledge to facilitate co-operation between science and engineering
- Organisation of conferences and meetings in Germany and in partner countries
