Impacts on Chinese and EU consultants
Impacts on Chinese consultants - Building up new expertise and capacity
At the end of the project 8 participating consultants were awarded with the CP certificate.
These consultants were trained during the whole project and accompanied the companies through the project. They had a very good opportunity to learn all necessary elements of setting up a CP project in a company and they had the opportunity to gain experience by seeing many factories and working with a group of international experts.
The training of these individuals is the basis to sustain the project and to build up new CP expertise in the country.
Impacts on the applicant - CAI in a life long learning process
The applicant could develop a very good cooperation with the Chinese Foundry Association during the project. The CAI experts met several times with the head of the national association and with the heads of some regional offices and of course with the applicant’s partner the Tianjin Foundry Association. Here the basis for the continuation of the project was discussed. This relation to this powerful association is a very good reference for CAI and many international companies, providers and other institutions can contact CAI if they want to get in touch with the CFA.
The supporting Chinese government showed great interest in this project as they have a vital interest to develop this very inhomogeneous sector and to disseminate their environmental regulations and strategies. This enables CAI to have access to high ranking governmental officials for the benefit of CAI and to the continuation of the approach.
The European industry, related to the project, showed interest on CAI as they need some aid to get into the Chinese market, as supplier, customer, consultant or investor etc. CAI will use its new expertise to initiate more contacts in the region.
The continuous contact with the EU programme manager gave CAI good feedback on the project and options to improve the project management and output.
Impacts on the project partner - The CFA included CP in their service programmes
The Tianjin Foundry Association developed a new product to serve their member companies. They participated actively in the project and sent two consultants to gain experience as CP experts. They experienced the importance of developing the capacities within their organisation as they saw the results in each project step. They learned a lot about best practice, pollution prevention etc in the sector and are willing to disseminate this knowledge through out their branches into the country. They will play a very important role to sustain the project.
