CPSU Sichuan
South Centre CESTT
The center was established in 1990 with support of ADB. Since then several CP projects have been implemented (2x steel, 2x cement, chemical and brewery - CPAudit). The center co-operates with the China Academy of Science and Sichuan University. Currently CDM projects focus on businesses.

Cement Factory
The company was established recently and applies a new technology using a waste product instead to produce cement. The factory well designed and laid out. Preheating and pre-calcination are part of the production process.
Improvement Options:
- Inline Vent gas monitoring - Would give good control over combustion process and allow for target setting in this regard
Steel foundry company
This company is part of a larger company, which is set-up in a steel works. The process in this foundry is not well set out. The site is very messy and this certainly affects the efficiency of the site. The site changed its production process last July so they do not yet have 12 months data available. Previously rebar for the construction industry was produced. This has now chenged ordered materials for various industries, some as large as 80 tonnes.
Improvement Options:
- Compressed air leaks - Improvement of hoses. Installation on/off valves. Redesigning of distribution system
- Steam Boiler - Check of efficiency. Examine distribution system. Maintaining of steam traps. Lag return piping
- Layout - Reduction internal movement by rearranging if possible
- Electrical arc - Improvement of transformer
- Electrical meters - Monitoring of electrical meters and identify what they are measuring
