The two centres connect Cleaner Production with the issues of energy efficiency, Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainable supply chains. Moreover the centres focus on the topic sustainable accomodation of loans.

Pharmaceutical Industry
The company produces various infusion liquids, which are filled in glass bottles. The company employees about 500 staff and is situated in an old textile factory. It is the biggest of its kind in Yunnan province. Large areas of the workshops are under special cleanliness demands.
Improvement Options:
- Water - Options for internal reuse of water as well as recovery of heat
- Steam Boiler - Check of efficiency, examination of distribution system, maintaining of steam traps
- Lighting
- Compressed air - Leak detection
Coal Power Station
This company is a plant of a national power production company and a large coal powered electricity generating station with 2 300MW lines. It is a very modern plant (2005) with a very high level of computerised monitoring. The potential for CP on this plant will be limited due to the magnitude of the site as well as its modern nature, but this does not mean that improvements in procedures and monitoring and targeting cannot be made.
