No. 14 Pilot Project: Yunnan Huadian Kunming Power Co., Ltd.

 

Ⅰ Company Profile

Located in Qinglong Town, An'ning City of Yunnan Province, the company is constituted with Kunming No. 2 Power Plant and Yunnan Kunming Power Plant. Its first-stage of the company was completed in October 2006. It has set up a board of directors with the general manager in charge of the management. It has 19 administrative departments in total.

Ⅱ Products and Process

Its primary product is electric energy. Its annual energy output of 2008 reached 2,122.107 million kWh and that of 2009 was 3,109.9656 million kWh. The production process involves heating power, burning, fire coal transportation and dust (slag) removal.

Ⅲ CPA Objective and Achievement Status

The cleaner production audit started in November 2008 and ended in October 2009, lasting 11 months. The objective and achievement status of the cleaner production is shown in Table 1.

Ⅳ Cleaner Production Audit Options and Benefits

There are altogether 72 cleaner production options implemented, of which 70 were none/ low cost options and 2 were middle/high cost options. Main options include fire coal quality improvement, draining pump installation, cooling tower renovation. The summary of the implementation effects of the options is shown in Table 2.
