The ECOPROFIT method

ECOPROFIT is a program aiming to economically strengthen industry through pollution prevention, inspired by the wish to contribute to the improved environmental situation of a region. On the basis of well known environmental problems ECOPROFIT investigates to the production process and all other activities of a firm and studies them from the angle of material and energy utilization. This approach helps to induce innovation within the companies themselves in order to bring companies and the whole region a step further on the way to a sustained economic development. Following on from this, products, technologies and materials are critically studied in order to minimize emissions and waste and to find ways to re-use unavoidable waste. In this sense, ECOPROFIT does not represent a patent solution to an isolated problem but more than this it is a profitable tool to establish a holistic concept.

ECOPROFIT - Background and history

ECOPROFIT is an ECOlogical PROject For Integrated environmental Technology. The objective is to strengthen the economical and the ecological situation of industry within a city or a region by introducing cleaner production methodologies into the production regimes of companies. more >>

Elements of ECOPROFIT

An ECOPROFIT program involves a number of companies of different sizes and branches who throughout the project learn the principles of cleaner production. more >>

Common workshops

Usually an ECOPROFIT project provides a number of 10 workshops to different topics. The workshops are attended in general by the plant or production managers or the environmental managers of the companies. more >>

Individual consulting and advice

In the workshops the participants in principle learn all the new aspects that - together with their experience and their knowledge of the company - are necessary to carry out a successful ECOPROFIT project. But the successful implementation of CP options is much more effective, if additional individual consulting is carried out. more >>

The ECOPROFIT award

The final act of an ECOPROFIT project is the award that is given to the companies. This award is a strong sign that the company's way of producing is environmental friendly. more >>
