Industrial application of renewable energies

  • Industrial application of renewables is rather at the beginning. Solar energy for space heating and warm water is well established as a technology.
  • The approach chosen is based on the "unit operation" concept of chemical engineering. Through a thorough analysis of the production processes considered, low temperature applications will be chosen for solar energy.
  • Energy from biomass and biofuels will be given their place in the concept.
  • Furthermore other possible usage of solar energy : Solar Salt ponds - how do they work, how are they utilized, examples of actual usage. High temperature solar devices - towers.
