Customers relationship and public awareness

How to raise public awareness and the understanding of water as a precious and vital element of social solidarity and development, with economic importance and value, requiring rational management with due emphasis on environmental needs for change in the behaviour of users and water institutions. Often the demand side is not incorporated in the overall management strategies to maximise the usage of a given volume of water by taking into account the behaviour, habits and needs of the customers.

How to make a water balance following the demand-side approach

Make public awareness campaigns to influence behaviour of customers

  • Public awareness campaigns comprising of a wide range of measures will be performed so as to influence the customer behaviour

Develop incentives

  • Appropriate incentives must be developed that will encourage and motivate the consumers to get actively involved in the management of local waters

How to make customers key participants in future sector development
