The main focus of CENTRIC AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL's work in the field of environment is based on clean technologies and eco-efficient services and products. These innovative approaches should replace end-of-pipe or remedial technologies as well as increase the resource productivity of urban and industrial activities. To operate this contribution towards sustainability we are developing and promoting several tools that enable industry and urban governance to fulfil the requested transition as efficiently as possible.

  • Business generally accepts the need to take action on the environment but is often concerned by the costs involved. CENTRIC AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL is seeking to improve understanding of adopting new technologies or why to start a re-think process of every day acting by providing the necessary instruction and help.
  • Urban governance is usually ready to take care of environmental issues and is willing to start sustainability policies, but the link between common services of urban utilities and the environment is many times not obvious. CENTRIC AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL is moderating such urban decision processes by introducing new management tools based on research and experience in industry.
  • Public administration is usually dealing with environmental protection, based on legislation and enforcement. CENTRIC AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL is supporting legal and technical experts of public administration to harmonise regulation and innovation.

The main instruments used by CENTRIC AUSTRIA INTERNATIONAL in the environment sector are (see also our other service sections):

  • Technical assistance by innovative programmes for industry, based on the PREPARE and ECOPROFIT methodology
  • Research and demonstration on new management tools, based e.g. on the factor 10 concept
  • Workshops and conferences to popularise innovation and to exchange experiences on international level
